Sona Di

About Me

Sona Di are a three-piece instrumental act from rural Northumberland, renowned for their cinematic brand of post-rock, chaotic live improv-noise meanderings and sparse, melodic, blissful ambience.
Formed in early 2007, the band spent their infancy meticulously composing their debut album ‘We’re just Monkeys With Guns and Money’ alongside relocating to Newcastle, a move that resulted in them bagging support slots for the likes of Vessels, Spokes & Jeniferever to name but a few.
2010 will see the release of said album in Spring/Summer, a video with Subjective Realities is also on the cards as well as a UK tour in the Autumn.
"What sets them apart from, say, Explosions In The Sky is the passion in their performance and the fusion of other styles like drone and noise into a style of post-rock that peaks and falls with far more tension than their contemporaries. " - Kick Out The Jam
"Three-piece Sona Di can conjure up a healthy racket to equal there more blissful moments...When they get loud it's gloriously brutal and hard hitting." - Narc Magazine
