Jennifer McCray

Jennifer McCray is a young talented artist and songwriter. Music has always been the center of her universe. Growing up as a part of a musical family, Jennifer's father being a successful recording artist landing a number 1 hit in the 70's with the song "Rock your baby " had given her the opportunity to experience music at a very young age. Little did she know the music would play a huge role in her future!Jennifer started writing poetry at the young age of 6 years old and has been given singing lessons as well as singing in the church choir. Born in Miami Beach Florida, Jennifer moved to Canada (where her mother is from) and at 17 ventured off to Europe for the first time where her father was living. This was the start of a great interest for travelling and also for learning languages being able to speak German, Dutch, French quite well! Travelling and doing shows with her father made her passion for music stronger and she realized that this was what she wanted to do with her life.In 1996 in a recording studio in Belgium Jennifer met her future manager Ronny Flas who exclusively signed her as an artist of TSP Records. From then on Jennifer decided to pursue a career in music by experimenting with different styles and writing all her own songs. Gaining experience and strengthening her voice were the most important as she gradually developed herself as an artist. That same year she got the chance to work in Metropolis studios in London with her first single "Do Anything" a song written by Hawk Wolinski who has written for the likes of Chaka Kahn" "Ain't nobody" as well as Micheal Jackson,Madonna and Fleetwood mac. she was signed to Edel music in this time.In 2001 Jennifer started working with a Belgium team and brought out 2 singles "Can't get enough" and "Free my mind" and was signed under Sony Music Belgium. While also starting to work with Silvano (another talented young artist on the TSP Records team) she was writing many songs and composing with him exchanging ideas and in 2002 composed the first single of Silvano together "Encore" which reached number 3 in the hit radio charts in Belgium! As well as accompanying Silvano on his first tour as a background vocalist singing in French, which is something Jennifer would enjoy doing also in the future!In 2003 Jennifer has made a video for her first single "Connected" which is ranked at this tilme in the top 20 of the best european music video on MCM. This single was on heavy rotation on all the big radio stations and is available in all the record stores. "Connected" was also ranked number 2 in the Hit Contact.Presently Jennifer is really concentrating on her debut album and also composing with some composers that have worked with Axel Red (another Belgium Female artist who is signed by Virgin France and has had number 1 hits within all French territories ) by meeting Patick Deltenre the top Belgium guitar player, who found Jennifer's personality and voice very intriguing and wanted to be involved in her project!After the succes of "Connected" and "In Your Head", TSP records releases the third single "Letting me Go" which gives us a new sample of the great talent of Jennifer McCray as singer but also as writer and composer.
