Blossette Kitson is a multi-talented music industry veteran who is currently the President and Founder of Kitson & Associates, LLC., a Music Publishing and Consulting Company. Her vast experience spanned two decades working with world renowned artists who represent almost every genre in the musical spectrum.A multi-faceted business executive, she has mastered the art of brokering deals, identifying new talent as well as creating new and viable outlets for existing icons. She has been instrumental in the success of projects, which have included Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Eartha Kitt, Aretha Franklin, Chakka Khan, Mandy Moore, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, Yolanda Adams, Najee, Alicia Keyes, Black Eye Peas and Mary J. Blige to name a few. The above mentioned projects, have garnered numerous prestigious awards including RIAA Gold and Platinum Awards, Grammys, American Music Awards, MTV Music Awards and Soul Train Music Awards.Kitson recently secured talent and sponsorship for the momentous Sojourner Truth Unveiling Ceremony held at the U.S. Capitol Building, Emancipation Hall. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi hosted the event. First Lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX18th District Houston), were active participants in the unveiling ceremony. Kitson is also the Co-Executive Producer of the official Sojourner Truth Unveiling Recording, “Nothing But The Truth” written by Grammy nominated songwriter Denise Rich and performed by multiple Grammy Award winners Yolanda Adams and Dorinda Clark Cole.Kitson secured entertainment for the Hollywood Farewell Tribute to President Bill Clinton, the Texas Farewell Tribute to President Bill Clinton, as well as various fundraising events for Vice President Al Gore, Senator Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Convention. She, also, had the honor of co-producing the musical entertainment segment of the late Milton Berle’s 93rd and final birthday celebration at The Beverly Hills Hotel. This awesome task included securing artists from every spectrum of the music world. Everyone from Little Richard and Patti LaBelle to Charlie Pride were a part of this event.Kitson is the Co-Producer of the theatrical production “Where Eagles Fly,” Kennedy Center, February 2010.Kitson is responsible for the placement of the Aretha Franklin/Mary J. Blige Grammy nominated duet, “Don’t Waste My Time.” penned by Denise Rich. She was the project supervisor for Alicia Keyes’ televised performance for the United States Army.As Associate Director of A&R at SBK/EMI Records, she was instrumental in signing top dance act Technotronic and Latin singing sensation Jon Secada. Her experience at SBK/EMI included creative management for the publishing division, where she signed Jazz sensation Najee, singer Johnny Kemp (“Just Got Paid”) and songwriters Sami McKinney (“Just Because” – Anita Baker) and La La (“You Give Good Love” – Whitney Houston). Blossette Kitson next served as Vice President of A&R for Island Records, where she had gold and platinum successes with Positive K (“I Got A Man” )and Chakka Demus and Pliers( “Murder She Wrote”) respectively.Industry Mogul Charles Koppelman appointed Kitson as the Production Administrator of Tracy Chapman’s self-titled, Grammy award winning debut album. During that year, she became Co-manager of R&B/Pop star Gregory Abbott, helping to make his platinum single, “Shake You Down,” a number one international hit.Under Kitson’s management, R&B artist Terry Dexter contributed the song “Magic” with Black Eye Peas to the hit film “Legally Blonde” and “You’ll Never Miss Me “to the multi-platinum “Rush Hour” soundtrack. Terry Dexter stormed the charts with the number one Billboard R&B remixed hit “Spend My Life,” a duet with Eric Benet. Dexter, also, made a cameo appearance in the film “Deliver Us From Eva,” starring LL Cool J.Blossette Kitson’s exuberance has spread beyond the music industry to philanthropic circles. She has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations in different capacities.
