About Me

I am NOT a disk jockey. I do not spin records at clubs, and I do not have my own radio show. I AM a solo PIANO PLAYER, but not an ordinary piano player. I play lots of rock music. I play punk rock, hard core, new wave, nerd wave, power pop, unpopular music, and many other types of music as well, and I do it all on acoustic piano. Usually I just shut my mouth and play the piano, but sometimes I play the piano and sing.About the music on this page:The words and music to "My Humble Home," "Lousy Personality," and "Bedtime Tears" were written by DJ Lebowitz."Holiday in Cambodia" is by Dead Kennnedys.

Ominous message on First St.

Last Tuesday, I returned to 83 First St. to bang out some more rock'n'roll on the piano.  I approached the piano and lifted the key cover.  On the piano keys I found four yellow post it notes.  The on...

Another DJ Lebowitz addict; and my appeal to an editor.

A couple days in the life of DJ Lebowitz

I played at the secret bar in San Francisco again one recent Tuesday.  Not having a sign out front does not stop the crowds from packing the place.  Once again I lay down a variety...

Secret Gig Report

I played at the secret bar in San Francisco yesterday (83 Proof).  The place was mobbed, the piano sounded good, I rocked the house, and the crowd cheered.  I'll be doing it again the r...
