Up-and-comer hard rock artist Adam Mast kicks off his debut album “Special Edition” with weighty guitar riffs, thick bass tones, and rolling drums; all held together by his confident vocals that are meant to entertain, encourage, and challenge the listener. Like some of his favorite artists, Mast determined a long time ago to record this album by playing each instrument himself. Although coming from a variety of Midwest-based hard rock ensembles, he thought it was important to begin this season of his music career by having the opportunity to pour just himself creatively into each track.
Born and raised in Missouri, Adam Mast relocated to Nashville in early 2006 to pursue a balance of artistry and ministry, his two lifelong passions. Writing music that comes from meaningful, real-life experiences, Mast anticipates that these songs will cause people to find the extraordinary in their everyday lives. “I’ve noticed in my life that most of the songs come from when I am going through something that challenges me and my faith,” he says. “It is almost like a creative door opens up, and songs just start pouring out.” His hope for his listeners is that despite the challenges of day-to-day living, they “can walk away with something valuable that they can apply to their own lives.”
With “Special Edition,” Mast hopes his music can have a positive and life-changing result on people’s lives. He admits that writing these songs has been a form of “therapy” for him and hopes that it will have the same effect on others.
