For the first time in a long time it feels as though the jeers prompted by utterance of the term ‘pop music’ are subsiding.
- to a point at least, where once again hooks and unashamed melodies are worming their way past our ear drums, having their way with our brains, and giving our hearts an uninvited-but-altogether-welcome reach around.
This is good news for The Polites.
After taking out 2008’s Triple J Unearthed 'top song' gong with shanty 'Someone Else’s Rum', the boys retreated to a Sydney warehouse with ARIA award winning producer Scott Horscroft (Sleepy Jackson, Silverchair, The Panics, Dappled Cities) to put upcoming EP 'The Polites Can’t Help But Feel Responsible' to tape.
After numerous teas and nigh on 40 variety of scone, The Polites are back showcasing ditties from said upcoming EP before its inevitable surfacing in earnest - soon!
Keep peeled ears.
