Stefan Schultze was born in Hannover / Germany. He studied jazz piano with John Taylor and jazz composition with Joachim Ullrich at the Cologne Conservatory Hochschule fuer Musik.He founded the ensembles Oktoposse, schultzing and Stefan Schultze Big Band and recorded several CDs, e.g. Stefan Schultze Trio feat. Hanna Jursch & Tilman Ehrhorn - Licht (Tonikum 2003), Oktoposse - Possenballett(Jazzthing/Double Moon
Records 2004). Oktoposse - Oktoposse geht fremd (JHM 2006) and schultzing - Leises Lauschen (Tonikum 2006).He has appeared at international festivals in Germany and other European countries and worked together with various musicians such as Frank Moebus, Matthias Nadolny, Matthias Schubert, Frank Gratkowski, Paulo Alvares and Claudio Puntin.Currently, he is in New York and studies at Manhattan School of Music with Michael Abene. more info and tour dates: www.stefanschultze.com
