Seido Karate is a traditional Japanese style of karate founded by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura.The physical training in Seido emphasizes progressive development of strength, flexability and aerobic capacity. In addition to developing students with the highest level of physical skills, Seido aims to develop individuals of the highest moral character, individuals who can then make significant contributions to a better life in the family, the work place, and in society at large.The Seido Los Angeles Organization is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing community service through instruction in traditional martial arts practice and philosophy, and through support of other charitable institutions. The primary focus of the Seido Los Angeles Karate Organization is not on competition with others. Rather, we seek to maximize the individual's potential in a supportive environment. Community service is an important way for us to improve the lives of those students we are privileged to teach, while also contributing to the larger community we live in. We offer programs that strengthen body, mind and spirit to all students including high-risk, disabled and disadvantaged groups who have most to gain but often have the least access to traditional martial arts practice.Seido Kids!Seido Los Angeles has a thriving children's program for ages 6 and up.Children's classes are also taught at the Hollywood Children's Club.
