About Me
I'm a guitar playing lunatic and music collecting geek who started buying records in the early 60's and bought his first guitar in 1967. I love feedback & the warm distortion of overheated tubes, fuzz, wah-wah, tremolo, reverb, echo, univibe, octavia, and the sweet whoosh of really good flanging. Chaotic noise & serene melody, Hammond B-3 thru a Leslie, soaring violin, pedal steel, honkin' sax, thundering bass, tribal drums, soulful vocals, etc. Music can be a spiritual orgasm. I'm most well-known for playing lead guitar in GG Allin & The Jabbers (1979 to late 1981) and the recently reformed Jabbers with Wimpy Rutherford (The Queers) on vocals (2001-2005). Some of the others I've played and/or recorded with: Wayne Kramer & Dennis Thompson (MC5), Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), Joe Hasselvander (Pentagram, Raven, Cathedral, Savoy Brown, etc.), Jeff Connolly (DMZ, Lyres), David Peel, Jeff Dahl (Angry Samoans, Powertrip, Jeff Dahl Band), Jeff Clayton (ANTiSEEN), Joe King (The Queers), Jonee Earthquake, and Andy Hernandez (Kid Creole & The Coconuts). I just jammed with Dickie Peterson of Blue Cheer, too!!! My musical tastes extend across many styles: raw blues, 50's - 70's soul & R&B & Funk (Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Maceo Parker, Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Buddy Miles, Band Of Gypsys, Isley Brothers, Johnny Guitar Watson, Junior Walker, King Curtis, Jimmy Castor Bunch, etc.), 60's Girl Groups (The Shirelles, The Shangri-La's, The Ronettes), rockabilly and psychobilly, jazz, 60's garage & psychedelic, 70's hard rock and heavy metal, "grunge", space music, experimental, drones, trance/world beat, honky-tonkin' outlaw country, free-form noise, noisey-pop (Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine), glam (Sweet, Slade, T-Rex), proto-punk, punk, power-pop (Cheap Trick, Raspberries, Big Star, The Real Kids), doom and stoner rock, Indian ragas/Bhangra (sitars and tablas), didgeridoo, theremin (old sci-fi soundtracks rule!), old folk & early country, 78's, novelty records ("Purple People Eater", "I'm A Lonely Little Petunia In An Onion Patch", "My Boomerang Won't Come Back", "The Witchdoctor", "Alley Oop", "Surfin' Bird", "Space Guitar" by Johnny "Guitar" Watson, "Shimmy,Shimmy Walk, Parts 1 & 2" by The Megatons, "Scratchy" by Travis Wammack), "Symphonie Fantastique" by Berlioz, and pretty much at least a few examples of every style of music.
