Savvy Cafe was a vocal group unparalleled in their class and style. It began as a mentoring project for producers Cathy Young and Peter Mann and developed into a popular recording and performing group whose rare live performances left audiences stunned and standing in the aisles demanding more from this amazing group of multi-talented Canadians. Ranging in age from 14 to 17 when they first began, Vanessa, Tasha, Paula and Nicole were still in high school. All wanted to continue on to attend University, and so the group performed whenever schedules allowed, respecting the need for education.
Peter Mann put his own stamp of World Class production on the songs the group performed. The group lasted until 2004 when one of the members left the group to pursue a different course. The remaining group members chose not to replace her, so they concentrated ..ing their University studies. Realizing that being a serious contender in the music world requires 100 per cent dedication and energy, the girls decided to put Savvy Cafe on the back burner, where it sits today. The girls are very close and still in touch. They miss performing together and consider the Savvy Cafe experience was life changing and educational. Nicole is finishing her last year in University, majoring in voice studies. She plans to record in the near future and the world better get prepared for the voice of this century! Vanessa is actively pursuing an acting modeling and singing career. Paula is a rising star in the business world. They were thrilled to work with the professional team of Peter Mann and Cathy Young . Savvy Cafe was one of the greatest undiscovered acts in the world. Had they commercially released a record, there would be no telling where they would be today.. it remains one of the mysteries of the music world.
