About Me

BackStage:Los Angeles celebrated it's 2-Year Anniversary on January 18, 2009!"BackStage:Los Angeles" is a music-interview show, created & produced by Sandy Jacobson...and is the direct result of listening to a number of musicians AND fans, over the past few years. THIS SPACE IS FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE MUSIC, THE ARTISTS, AND INFORMATION ABOUT THE SHOW. WE ASK THAT THE EMPHASIS ON POSTINGS BE FOR THAT PURPOSE, AND TO REFRAIN FROM RELIGIOUS, POLITICAL, OR MLM CAMPAIGNS...AS WE HAVE ARTISTS FROM VARIOUS RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL BACKGROUNDS. Sandy Jacobson produces the show, as a way of giving back and celebrating the artists who have touched her life, during the difficult times as well as the happy times...and those artists who are just beginning their careers. The intent is to recognize talented musicians, known and unkown, who are REAL musicians, singers, and/or singer/songwriters...along with guests who discuss music-related topics...such as the therapeutic properties of music for children who have gone through trauma.Guests have included some incredible talent...Peter Tork, James Lee Stanley, John Batdorf, John McEuen, Chelsea Williams, Batdorf & Rodney, Ainjel Emme, Scott Gates, Ted & Pablo, Keith England, Fertitta & McClintock, a return visit from Peter Tork, David Philp (The Automatics), Mike Handcock (Musician & International Wealth Coach), Brian Ray (Paul McCartney's band), We Five, John Parkinson (ballet pianist), The Teen Project Benefit Concert (performed by Camp Freddy, Linda Perry, Mark McGrath, & others), Russ & Julie of Russ & Julie's House Concerts, Pat Burns (author of "Grandparents Rock! The Grandparenting Guide For The Rock & Roll Generation), John Batdorf & Michael McLean(to promote John's new CD "Still Burnin" and discuss their songwriting process), Mike Handcock (Rock Musician/International Wealth Coach & Ngahihi Bidois (Maori Tribal Leader) from New Zealand,Florence Hartigan, Bob Stane (founder of The Ice House, and owner of The Coffee Gallery Backstage), Nathan McEuen, Joel Rafael, Laurence Juber, Clay Eals (author of "Steve Goodman:Facing The Music"), a return visit from John McEuen (to update us on his career AND discuss The Music Bill of Rights), and Evan Marshall. Scheduled guests include Matt Cartsonis, and others.Sandy Jacobson has had her life story printed in the October 2007 issue of XL-Extraordinary Lives Magazine, an international publication for inspiring entrepreneurs, and previously published in the Jan. 2006 issue of BackStage.com. She was also nominated for a Craggy Award from Cult Radio A-Go-Go. In Dec. 2007 she was interviewed on Women in Business, hosted by Gayle Carson, with a listening audience of 1.5 million!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

First, the people who have positively impacted my life and inspired me through their work: Julie Andrews, Carole King, Shirley Temple-Black... I've had the honor of meeting a number of wonderful people along the way...not limited to, but including the others who have positively impacted my life and inspired me through the most difficult points in my life, are Peter Tork, Olivia Newton-John, and Anissa Jones ("Buffy" from the original "Family Affair.") Recent surprises have been Bob Hegyes ("Juan Epstein" from "Welcome Back, Kotter" and Robert Downey, Jr. Among my "top friends" is a tribute page to Anissa Jones, "Buffy," because we were junior high and high school classmates, and I never told her how much her presence in my life at that time, helped me. She died less than a month after high school graduation; so I have the tribute page up there to honor her "today."
