About Me

Myspace Layout Generator by TheMyspaceLayout.com
My mum’s incessant playing of The Beatles and The Four Tops on the family seaside drives to Bognor as a kid ‘switched on’ my pop ears at an early age ( not sure about the Jim Reeves though mum). Then I saw Stacia dancing naked to Silver Machine on top of the pops and at that moment knew that I wanted to be a rockstar. I always enjoyed writing poetry and in fact won a couple of minor competitions doing so at school so when I bought an acoustic guitar at the age of 14 the two creative interests naturally combined and I started writing songs, well at least I thought so. I started a game of snakes and ladders trying to pursue the dream and played in bands for far too many years before finally sliding down to the bottom of the board in about 1994. Had a great time but glad it ended there. I signed to Safe Management around that time and started writing songs for other artists and was lucky enough to work on tracks for the Spice Girls during their development and in fact named them following an awful track we co – wrote called Sugar and Spice ( Gerry memory seems clouded about these events and believes she conceived the name on the treadmill one day) Anyway, the situation landed me my first publishing deal with BMG. Naturally I seized the opportunity to make music for a living and have been fortunate enough to have kept it going for more than ten years now and still have a roof over my head. Outside of music – well, I experienced burnout far too early on in life so don’t go too crazy nowdays – just can’t do it . The animal is still within but is kept at bay by making music, eating good food, drinking moderate quantities of good beer and going to the gym where I do battle with the rowing machine on a daily basis. I have a very understanding wife Renata and two beautiful daughters – Amelia who is 3 and Ella who is 4 months. They are everything to me and the time we spend is priceless. I have been obsessed with making words and music for many years now and the urge still gets stronger daily. I’m always interested in hearing from people who can help me relieve this urge and make a little magic whilst doing so.
