I am sorry if you are unable to view.ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTERMyths and Mevagissey: I live in Mevagissey. It is the largest working fishing village in Cornwall, Southwest England. When I'm not at school, I'm a part-time investigator of Cornish Mythology. My first adventure involved the Beast of Bodmin Moor, said to be a large wild cat, but I have always wanted to find Morgawr, the Cornish sea monster. There are so many myths in Cornwall, from pixies to giants, from crop circles to stone circles and tales of lost lands and mysterious places thought to be linked to King Arthur. I think I am going to be busy! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTERMy Parents: My Parents run a guesthouse on the northern cliff of Mevy. It has three guest rooms and I live at the top of the house in the loft room that has a window with views over the village, onto the harbour and out to sea. Sometimes when somebody at school asks where I live, I just give them a postcard showing the harbour with fishing boats and houses on the northern cliffs behind and I draw a circle where my bedroom window is! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER Uncle Bob: Uncle Bob is a fisherman. He inspires me with his tales of sea-serpents, shipwrecks and ghost ships. I decided to be a vegetarian when he took me fishing and I saw a thousand wriggling fish in the nets! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTERTom Merrit: He has been my friend all my life. He likes to think he can talk his way out of every situation, emphasis on the words 'he likes to think.' He's smart at school and good at sport and computers. His dad supplies us with some great gadgets, like our electronic pea shooters! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER Amanda Jackson: Amanda is my age too. To be honest, I have a bit of a crush on her (I'd die if she reads this!). I'm not sure if she feels the same way. She is always asking questions and has taught me to do the same. I guess she is the cautious one. ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER Peter Bagley: Peter is a good friend too. He lives with his grandparents in Church Street. He can be quite outrageous. He dyed his hair bright orange! I have a feeling he will grow up to be a mad scientist! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER Together we are the MYTH HUNTERS! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

MORGAWR! I'd like to meet Morgawr, the Cornish sea-monster! After I appeared in the newspapers when I found something interesting in the River Fowey, I couldn't believe it when I was told a writer wanted to turn my adventure into a book. Well, I wasn't really expecting EVERYTHING to be in the book. I mean there are some things best kept secret! Anyway, everyone says it is really exciting and fun and even sad in places and that it will make a great movie. So I'd like to meet the actor who will play me! It will be like looking in the mirror but seeing something else! ARCHIBALD BURKE: TEENAGE MYTH HUNTER I'm searching for: I have been doing a lot of searching lately. Trouble is there are some things you can search for and never find. Like myths. If you can find the truth about a myth, the myth no longer exists, because it becomes fact, assuming you can convince enough people of the truth. Or if you find something mythical, like a mythical beast, chances are it will be killed, then the myth is destroyed. Suppose I found Morgawr (that's Cornish for 'sea monster') other people would want to capture it and it would die. So it is like trying to chase the end of a rainbow and maybe for these reasons you won't ever know if I do meet Morgawr. This is the dilemma of being a 21st Century Teenage Myth Hunter, but in searching for a myth, maybe I will find something else. Maybe I will find myself. The hero I long to be.
