Broken Vessels

About Me

BROKEN VESSELS was birthed out of a heart felt desire to render unto God a pure and simple praise in the spirit of musical excellence. Formed in February, 2006, “The Vessels,” as they are affectionately called, are a simple group of friends and family, joined together with the common desire of offering unto the Lord lives that are a testament of His saving, healing, and delivering power; and rendering unto His people a musical ministry that exudes that testimony. The sound of Broken Vessels is very pure, rich, and blended tonal offering…simple melodies that flow into beautiful complex harmonies. It is the vocal texture of each individual “vessel” that makes that sound different and enticing. Although the musical focus of the ensemble is primarily praise and worship driven, the ensemble is blessed to be able effectively minister all types of music – from contemporary gospel to a cappella spirituals to classical anthems to vocal jazz…all to the glory of God. Under the capable direction of “The Mystro” Elder Kenneth Brandon, the Vessels have been blessed to minister all across the nation, and have shared the stage with some of the most prominent names in the gospel music industry, including Jonathan Nelson, Malcolm Williams, Min. David R. Curry, Jr., Min. Benjamin Cone III and Worship, Larissa Tate and Roman VIII, Dathan Thigpen and Holy Nation, and Min. Vernon Moore and the Urgency Project. The Vessels have also had the distinct pleasure of ministering in Yokosuka, Japan. SAN BI SHI O!!!!!!! (That’s PRAISE THE LORD in Japanese…)The Apostle Paul said, in the 2 Corinthians 4:7, "…we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." David said, in Psalms 51:17, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." It is our desire to present ourselves as vessels before the Lord…broken, but seeking His mending power so that we may be filled with his Holy Spirit to the overflow and beyond, not just in our music ministry, but in our daily lives. Our prayer is that the world does not see us, but the God to whom we surrender. Tommy Tenny once said, "Earthly brokenness leads to heavenly openness..." The more we are broken before Him, the more He opens Himself up to us...and we can experience Him in His fullness. The mandate of Broken Vessels is to take the sound of the Kingdom…the song of the Lord…the melodies that He hears and the harmonies that He enjoys…and manifest them here in the earth.
