I'm shy and quiet most of the time, but I do have my silly moments if I'm in the right environment. Some could say I'm a bit eccentric. If that's true, I'll wear that label proudly.
I have a strange assortment of interests. I enjoy music around the world in various genres and time periods, including jazz and big band music from the 1930s and 1940s. I enjoy music from the 1980s. I've also discovered calypso music recently. My current music obsession is J-pop (Japanese pop). I've started branching out to listening to other Asian pop.
Most of my music listening centers around Hello! Project. Some of my favorite H!P music include Taiyo to Ciscomoon, Morning Musume, Melon Kinenbi, Natsumi Abe, Tanpopo, and Aya Matsuura.
I am smitten by one particular Hello! Project member: Atsuko Inaba, formerly of Taiyo to Ciscomoon and Osaka Performance Doll. She currently provides background vocals for many H!P songs. She has an amazing voice and an incredible personality.
One of my other obsessions is listening to old time radio. This is radio from the 1930s to 1950s, before television replaced radio as the primary entertainment medium. Many interesting programs were aired during that time. I enjoy most of the genres, such as drama, crime/detective, suspense/horror, comedy, and science fiction. Most of the programs would be considered "cheesy" by today's standards, but I still enjoy them.
My two favorite foods currently are curry and gyoza. Hmmm, I wonder how a combination of the two would taste. (Yes, I like to experiment.)
Certain things about me I keep private. I've had problems in the past related to my online experience, but I prefer not to discuss it. Don't be offended if I'm vague on some points about me. Also, there are certain things I can reveal about myself online that I'm not comfortable revealing in the offline world. Specifically, my orientation. Until society becomes more open-minded, I probably will remain in the closet. Fortunately, my parents have been accepting.
