Formed in Bristol, England in 1981, the band opened the notorious Batcave in London's sleazy Soho district in 1982, and invaded invaded America dressed to kill in 1983.
Released 2 singles on London records (Returning from a Journey/ Beauty of Poisin) a mini album on Sire 'Batastrophe', an EP on Flicknife Records 'Sharp Teeth Pretty Teeth'. 1995 released retrospective 'Azoic'/'Crush'
2007 Release 'Electric Ballroom' on Metropolis with 2007 line up, and including collaborations with Jonny Slut and Olli Wisdom.

2008 Original 1983 line up reform for The Batcave Anniversary Tour AND hosting the Batcave at London's Colosseum on July 11th with the 1984 original line up of Sex Gang Children.
2008 To mark the first gig for 25 years with the original 1983 line up, Specimen professionally recorded their show at the Batcave on the 11th July, for future release exclusively through www.clubantichrist.com.
