I was born and raised in Zellik-Asse (near Brussels). I started to play drums at the age of 13 and learned it on my own. I joined a local band and learned to read and play in an ensemble. At the age of 17 I went to the music academie for two years where I came in contact with jazz for the first time. I was inspired by the music and decided to go to the lemmensinstitute where I studied with Dré Pallemaerts for 5 years. During this period I also took classes from Stephane Galland, Hans Van Oosterhout, Frank Vaganeé, Peter Hertmans, Bart Van Caenegem, Ron Van Rossum, Pierre van Dormael, Philippe Aerts,... and took masterclasses from Billy Hart, Bill Carrothers, Peter Erskine, Bruno Castelluci, Nelson Veras,... I graduated in 2006.
Besides my own quartet I am playing with several bands like Wayne Shorter Tribute, Sonic Orchestra, Sullivan Street Group & Trio, Summer Residence,... That way I have the opportunity to play with great musicians like: Ewout Pierreux, Pascal Mohy, Axel Gilain, Steven Delannoye, Sal La Rocca, Martijn Van Buel, Garif Telzhanov, Bart De Nolf, Piet Verbist, Bruno Vansina, Frederik Leroux, Jean-Paul Estievenart, Janos Bruneel, Koen Geudens, Yannick Peeters, Bart Van Caenegem, François Willemaers, Bernard Guyot,...
