Situation Normal

Hey all,This is a page that we set up to help reconnect with old friends who we have met through this goofy band. I know that the core members of the band, Adam, TJ, Chris, and Marty have all met many great people through this band. Some of these people we have met remain our closest friends to this day. Unfortunately, in many cases, we have lost touch with people that we use to see on an monthly or weekly basis. Whether it was drinking FOFRO’s at Off the Alley, running around the Palos Rec Center, or rocking out at Mojo’s, Planet Java or any of the various coffee houses we played over the years, we always seem to have a lot of fun. I recently realized that 2007 marks 10 years since the creation of Situation Normal when I pulled a one of a kind Situation Normal shirt that someone made for us a long time ago. In bold red letters, with some bitchin' clip art of a bull, it states “Situation Normal, Chicago Style Since 1997”. Hell yeah! I stole that shirt from TJ about 4 years ago because he was too skinny for it then. I bet he wishes he had it now : ) Ten years later Adam, TJ, Chris and Marty are very lucky to still be close friends and even play music together in Lord Mike’s Dirty Calypsonians and Todd Hembrook and the Hemisphers. Even Psycho Dave, our trombone player extraordinaire, has stayed active musically with Deal’s Gone Bad and now the Dirty Calypsonians. Adam has matured the most (musically speaking) and now has his solo project in full swing as Adam Fitz. Be on the look out for the follow up to his debut Between the Incident and the Event.Ten years after the creation of Situation Normal all of us hold dear the memories and friendships that grew out of one rediculous band. Even today, if two or more of us are in a room together there is a good chance there will be some serious reminiscing. This is something that many friends, girlfriends, and ex-girlfriends can attest to.What we are hoping to do is have a 10 year anniversary show that will be an excuse to bring together all of the friends, family, and musicians that have converged through Situation Normal. We are still far off in the planning of this event but hope to do it toward the end of this summer. So, if you or anyone you know has a funny memory about Situation Normal PLEASE leave us a comment.
