Greetings, I am the Great Sphinx of Giza. So basically, I was built sometime between 2558 to 2532 BC. I may be an old dog, (or lion bodied king, whichever you prefer) but I'm still totally hip. I'm a pretty big guy...my paws alone are 50 feet long, and the rest of me measures 150 feet. When I was a kid, I was painted by some Egyptian dudes, I was totally in style. Since then, most of my original paint job has worn off. Bummer, dude. Oh, and then some jerks in the Turkish period knocked my nose off. My beard is missing too, but I don't know what happened there. People often tell me that I look a lot like Pharaoh Djedefre, so, no need to point it out to me, man. I already know. The sand is totally annoying out here...whenever there is any sort of breeze, I end up covered in sand, and have to be cleaned off. For instance, a sand storm in 1905. But don't worry, since then, I have been brushed off and ready to greet my fans. My name, Sphinx, means "strangler", so basically, don't mess with me. The material I am made of is limestone bedrock that originated thousands of years ago from sediments left in the bottom of the ocean. I'm totally an antique. I also do a lot of work with National Geographic, so you've probably seen me around a lot. Anyways, I like to party and have a good time, chill with friends. You know.
