Newlanta FIlms, we're a company that began on a whim. Chris and myself were about to do our first joint project in film class, Kelly Whitinberg if I'm not mistaken, but we needed a name to unite our two production companies. Now our friend Paul, who was from Atlanta had come to college and named his dorm room "Newlanta". By doing this he felt he was bringing the new to the old(bc I'm not sure how many of you know about Savannah, GA, but it's old), and since a lot of us were from the A, why not? Now Chris is from Dallas, real big Mavericks fan, but had by that time he had officially gotten his A town card, so he and I decided to carry the name Newlanta as an umberella company for all things film. Needless to say, instant hits.Now there came a time when change was coming faster than a bullet. Chris and I had pretty much mastered everything we tried, and some people saw it as unfair that the two of us worked on everything together(jealousy). So we took on one of our friends who was an action master, Kenneth Bradley. Kenny was a gun crazy, high speed foot chase, twizzler eating mad man...but it's exactly what Newlanta Films needed to go to that next level. Kenny took us out of our Ridley Scott phase, and pushed us into a more Tony Scottish area. It was a breath of fresh air.Now we were a trifecta that couldn't be fucked with, excuse my language. Chris brought the comedy, Kenny brought the action, and I brought the romantic nonesense that the girls liked. Who could pass that up? So here we are now, 2007 and with many things on the horizon and even more to come after that, you'll be seeing a lot of us, trust. Now if anyone hasn't gotten it yet, Newlanta stands for New Atlanta, because we're a new breed of anything that's come from this great city as of yet. Enjoy the ride.
