About Me

Think back to your favorite childhood memory!
Remember that warm Christmas that was filled with love and joy, where all your family and friends came around?
Remember that amazing birthday party, where you received so many gifts from your loved ones?
Remember your mom dying from AIDS leaving you to raise your younger siblings? Was this one of your special memories?
Well…. This is the reality of many children whose families have been affected by AIDS.
Just to keep you up to date with actual figures….
There are 11,000 new infections and nearly 8,000 deaths caused from AIDS daily. Over 4 million people will become newly infected and nearly 3 million will lose their lives to AIDS this year. 2 million of those will be in Sub-Saharan Africa
These are devastating numbers. When will we start to take action? When will we start to care?
Keep A Child Alive is a non-profitable organization that reaches out to these families. They give light where the flame was once diminished, they give hope where all was once lost and they give support before its too late!
Are you going to wait till another 8,000 die before you give your support?
The AGAPE Orphanage in South Africa , is currently home to 30 orphans, aged 7 to 16 years, and their spirit thrives despite their devastating situation.
The new AGAPE orphanage will be rebuilt in 2 phases. Working with KCA, and with the generosity of many others, the first phase is now on the way to completion. It will involve a central building that will serve not only the children but also as a local community, with cooking facilities, washing and shower blocks, dining areas and a number of classrooms. It will also contain eight satellite homes that will surround the main centre, each with its own "house mother", a parental figure that will be shared by six to eight children. Once Phase 2 is completed, at a cost of $120,000, the new AGAPE will have adequate space for 64 children.
9 time Grammy winner Alicia Keys, has been at the heart of this project since it was started and her continued support with Keep A Child Alive is both encouraging and significant. She has contributed greatly to this cause and this past April, Alicia was able to visit the orphanage and was so impressed at what had been accomplished thus far. With the constant support of Alicia, Keep A Child Alive and a few other contributors, 80% of this amazing new building has already been completed, but more money is needed. We need to raise that $120,000 so this remarkable building can be finished
We need to complete this building. Not only for those children but for ourselves. How much longer will we sit on the side lines and conform to the negative stereotypes of our generation? Let’s make that change. Let’s be about something. Let’s be known as the fighting generation.
You can restore hope. You can make a difference. Please donate anything you can.
