Waldo Fabian GarridoAdvanced Diploma in Arts (Music), BA Honours in Contemporary Music Studies, Master of Design Science (Audio)Waldo’s new project "Garrido" has just released a new album through Senso-MGM called "Chileansoul".At the moment, Waldo is in the studio recording a new Jazz album with pianist Jackson Harrison and drummer Fabian Hevia.Waldo is also making his mark in a number of other musical circles. Under the name of Waldo G., remixed two tracks for Disco Montego including a new mix of their smash hit single “Beautifulâ€.Waldo has written and produced three solo albums; ‘Dejame Tocarte’, a South American release through Sony imprint Leader, and ‘Loco’, which was released locally by FMG. Waldo had a No.1 single on Chile’s Radio Corazon with the title track from ‘Dejame Tocarte’. He also reached the No.1 spot with “Muerdeme La Lenguaâ€. His songs are also gaining greater exposure in South America through a brace of top selling compilations there. Waldo is no stranger to the Latin American charts with production and writing credits on two hit singles for rising Latino singer Rachel and he can also claim to being one of the first contemporary Latin writer/producers to sign with the giant Warner Chappell music publishers.Waldo has also written and produced music for the hit Australian film ‘Strange Planet’ and a number of artists locally including Robyn Loau and Mark Walton. His diversity is further emphasised through his role as founding member of Australia’s pioneering jazz outfit ‘The Catholics’I also teach sound design, production techniques, musicology, songwriting and electric and double bass.
