Find some of my work at etsy.com/littlehats. I enjoy your comments but please make the pics smallish. I am a milliner and artist in Ontario Canada and my new year's resolution was to get in touch with the whole internet-thing. :) It's not easy living in the country with dial-up.
I digress. I work in my studio making hats and make a little art on the side and spend time working on my house. My partner Christopher is in the tech side of rock and roll and theatre. We don't have average days.
I really don't want this to be a manifesto of art or people but I do like to write and when I was an angst filled teenager I longed to be a tourtured writer. I opted instead for a tourtured artist. I think there is a part of me that enjoys obscurity and toiling in solitary studios. I chose after all, to be a milliner. A strange and dying art form that crosses the line between fashion and sculpture. I was, in my fourth year of college, in love with textile instalation art. Fun to make but tough to store. I've since taught myself how to make books and I often make small book sculptures. One day I will take a photo of them. I love to print-make. I love the smell of the ink and the feel of the paper.
One day I will finish a print again. I have been distanced from it for a year or so. I may even post some photos here in another album. That is if I stop sewing enough to do it.
Our house is a whole different story. It's a log house built in 1971 and NOTHING changed. It's ugly and dark and brown. Very, very brown. (sigh) One day. I will have a bathroom that isn't falling apart. We have finished the kitchen/dining room hall though. It looks fantastic and I love it. It took over a year though. Always time and no money and vice-versa. I likely will change this and ramble on about something else. So until then....Get MySpace Layouts from nUCLEArcENTURy .COM OR create your own using MySpace profile editor !!!
