John Cameron is a musician with unlimited talent, creating a raw combination of folk, blues, rock and country who can play several instruments, a guitarist with a distinct style all his own. It rolls out of him like a musician twice his age, but with an appealing freshness , a kind of modernized version of the R & B soulfulness Muscle Shoals is known for. A seriously gifted and proficient musician whose blues singing will floor you. His talent appears limitless, having played country, blues. folk, Southern Rock, R&B and Funk, he can blow you away.John Cameron has played solo, in several states from Tennessee to Little Rock Arkansas, Florida. & Alabama. He has guest played with several great bands, in honky tonks and bars in Tennessee and Alabama His most recent band, a funk blues band where he played lead guitar and sang a few songs was an exciting and enjoyable learning experience. He has since gone back to his love of writing and performing acoustic guitar. “ I love jamming with other bands, I love the energy, but I also love the writing and singing and the feel I get from the people when I play acoustical.”John Cameron was born in the Muscle Shoals, Alabama area. He spent a lot of time traveling between Florida and Muscle Shoals as a young boy. While traveling he would write and sing to his parents, and they were pleasantly surprised at the depth and maturity of his writing, and the fact that he could sing was a real surprise to his family. His mother said, “Writing runs in our family, so I could believe he could write but singing, well it still surprises me, I know his fathers side of the family is very musical, it just never occurred to any of us he would be gifted with so much talent.”. His love of music soon led him to seriously learning how to play guitar, which he loves. “My father called a friend of his, Junior Lowe, (who was a session guitarist with FAME Studios and a songwriter, who has songs that have been recorded by Hank Williams Jr., Little Richard, Tom Jones, Percy Sledge, to name a few, and a guitarist who played on a lot of the early classics, with his own signature sound), and asked him to meet me and see if he could “help me out a little”. “ I doubt he could ever get rid of me now, he has been a wonderful, friend, teacher and mentor, to me, and it is a great day when I can hang out with him, he taught me a lot about guitars and songwriting, and now, I just can‘t stop I just keep playing, & evolving, I play so much, it is like breathing, it is just who I am.”John Cameron has been playing publicly , and stirring things up since he was 14 crossing the Tennessee line to play in bars and honky tonks. In the Muscle Shoals, & Florence Alabama area, he has played the Handy Festival, & Music In The Park. He has played at many locale venues. At 16 he was booked to play at the Ritz Theater, during the George Lindsey Festival. He’s played, a number of times at the Marriott, in Florence Alabama as special guest of Mike Pyle, (a guitarist and songwriter, who has played with Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Earl Thomas Conley,). He’s getting the notice of, and jamming with several well known, respected, musicians and songwriters. He has been a featured artist on a live radio show. He has, had several of his songs played on the radio, and interviewed by the Times Daily. He now plays venues both locally and on the road, playing, writing singing, and loving every minute of it, with no slowing down in sight.
