About Me

My name is Jason and I play drum set, tabla, kanjira, and dumbek and I'm also a producer. I perform world music electronica under the name "Sunray Project". Each perfomance features a different world music artist accompanied by me on percussion and laptop improvising over loops that I create. I also play with the world music band, Atash, out of Austin. http://www.atash.com.The first featured track is brand new. It is an instrumental jam that I recorded with Fared on santoor and myself on tabla, I made an arrangement and produced other tracks around it.The second song above is a remix of an Oliver Rajamani recording taken from his album "Forty Days".The second track is a remix I did of a song from my band Atash. The forth track is a remix of another Oliver Rajamani song which also features Nagavalli Medicharla on vocals. The video below is an improvisational percussion piece performed at a special Atash concert called Global Harmony. It features Alseny Sylla on djembe, Abbos Kosimov on doira, Gouri Shankar on tabla, and myself on kanjira and drum set.
