Ko Rockin'It is a Hip Hop night based in Hull that incorporates the live elements of Hip Hop culture. Over the 3 years that it was run between 2002-2005, it became an important breeding ground for local Hip Hop talent, actively encouraging people to come along and participate. The overall emphasis on the night is 'keeping hip hop fun' and, like it's sister night 'TRUESKOOL', bases itself on the principles of Afrika Bambaataa's Universal Zulu Nation......'PEACE, LOVE,UNITY AND HAVING FUN'!
This is a night where people come to celebrate the positive force that Hip Hop can be, in a world where mainstream culture tends to promote the more aggressive, machismo, materialistic side of Hip Hop culture. Defunkt took time out to travel the world which meant no Ko Rockin'It for almost 2years.
2007 see's its return.....back by sheer popular demand. So come dance, smile and throw those hands in the air, cos this is a Hip Hop party you wont forget in a hurry!
