I'm a Libra which naturally makes me a great person. It also makes me humble. I'm passionate, and I love passionate people. I'm a damn good daydreamer which provides mucho writing material but less time for reality. I thank Los Angeles Times columnist, Chris Erskine for being a constant inspiration and encouragement and an e-mail writing coach who actually believed I had something to say. I called myself a hippie in the late 60s. Peace brother. But I never made a pilgrimage to Haight-Ashbury, and a real flower child didn't have parents like mine, so I opted for daisies in my hair and a Love-in. I love a bit of drama. I admit sometimes I help create it. I throw salt over my shoulder each time I spill some so the world's bad luck won't fall on my shoulders. I love open minds and hearts. I adore "That Girl" and "Twilight Zone" marathons, beach- bonfires, orange blossoms, blooming jasmine,jungle gardenia and twilight. I love making homemade applesauce, Bob's Big Boy, pumpkin pancakes, freshly squeezed orange juice, flannel PJs,long bubble baths,sidewalk sales and sleeping in. I thank my family for their inspiration, humor and perspectives. I gave natural birth to the first, drugged myself for the second and happily and painlessly gained two more by way of a wedding ring. Without these darlings, I would have absolutely zero to write about.When I'm not writing a weekly column for The Press Enterprise, I'm writing restaurant reviews on Yelp and grocery lists at home. The later is more challenging. In between all my rantings,I'm chasing two large dogs trying to convince them that they are not humans.
