Finally | Akhirnya - The Album
Why do you name your album Finally | Akhirnya?
I was thinking how should I name my album and suddenly someone
bumped into me and said what would your fans say when you launch
your album? I say, “Well, my fans will say – Finally, she come out with
her album!†So I name my album “Finally | Akhirnyaâ€. It’s a dedication
to all my fans & everyone who have been waiting for my album for 18
months.
How many producers are involved in this album?
There are a lot of producers involve in the album production to bring out
the various side of Suki. There are 7 of them in total, including Anton
Morgan, Audi Mok, Greg Henderson, Kieren Kuek, Luke Mason, Nine
(Ruffedge), Paul Moss and Zaf from VE.
Do you involve yourself in the album production?
Well, I wrote the song “Hidup iniâ€. I thought it would be an English song
when I composed the melody but in the end of the day, Izham want to
make it to a Malay song, I spend almost 3 days to finish the lyrics. I also
co-written the lyrics for “Tak Sama†& “Ku Teruskanâ€. I found I have
deep interest in album production so I asked permission from Izham to
involve in the whole production as Executive Producer to learn more
about album production. It’s really interesting process and I learnt a lot
of things.
Your album took about 18 months to complete, why has it taken so long?
18 months is really long. But for a new artist to get prepared for the
market, it’s just a nice duration. My label has arranged vocal classes,
communication classes, dance classes and a lot of trainings for me.
They also hired an Image Consultant to give me a training and styling
for the new image. I also went for fitness training. I spend the 18
months to prepare myself for the market. I hope my fans will like it.
What is your expectation towards this album?
This is my first step in Music Industry after winning One In A Million. I
don’t know how my fans will like me but I do hope they like my new
image. My album is towards more happy kind of style and music. This is
definitely not only for my age but all kind of age level.
