About Me

Names Alex, some call me Toolbox, others call me Quinn, if you can call me anything else you are very special! I'm stuck in Panama [Sh][c]ity, Fl...for now. I'm a passionate photog, surfer, and musician. I'm currently working on my degree in pre-comm. photography @ GCCC (Harvard by the Bay)and prep.ing for fsu to study film production and photography. I'm an art geek, and i love it. I consider myself extremely romantic and i love eyes. Surfing is one of my absolute favorite things in the world and i'm very proud to be supported by Mr.Surfs Surf Shop as a team rider. I skate old school boards to keep my form up when the waves are flat. I'm way to into clothes, thus i'm usually broke. I enjoy blank v-neck t-shirts, scarves, red things, skinny jeans (if you got it flaunt it), vintage vests, neon anything, but esp black shirts with neon designs that i modify for going dancing (i usually cut the sleeves off), and jackets...I love jackets. Photography is how i express most of my feelings nowadays, its sometimes harder than painting or writing music, which i do very often, because you cant just make a photograph; you have to work with physical things to relay your message/feelings/whatever. Music is a vent that i pursue vigorously. throughout my musical experience i've opened for the likes of Breathe Carolina, Metro Station, The Scenic, There For Tomorrow, Valencia, Emerosa, The Morning Of, The Secret Handshake, and many others. i jam constantly. I am very proud and lucky to come from the family that produced the famous jazz guitarist George Barnes and my family is very supportive of my musical and artistic endeavors. My early influences come from my granddad, Harry Barnes, aka "The Technician" and brother of George Barnes, his style was New Orleans style Jazz mixed with Chicago swing. Later under the influence of my mother, who still goes to shows, punk and ska became a big part of my musical taste. Around my early teens I became interested in indie and electronica. I really enjoy going to my local techno club and glowsticking. My tastes and styles reflect a mixing of these genres of music and art. P.L.U.R. is a good way to live, look it up!background
