In our economy today I feel very fortunate being successful with my expanding art gallery.
All business aside though, I will always be a collector at heart. When purchasing art for my my personal collection, I know it will be hung proudly on one of walls for years to come.
I've been collecting art for many years, and been very fortunate to develop and maintain a very close rapport with the artists whom I've supported.
I began collecting with one of favorite Shepard Fairey pieces on a fortuitous purchase. That piece is still in my collection today. It was an original stencil on wallpaper from 1995 that I purchased for around $50.00.
I sent a picture up to Obey and Amanda was so kind to invite me up to their studio. From there, Shepard and Amanda's generosity and continued kindness can never be fully returned in terms of my gratitude. In my opinion they have shared some of Shepard's best work with me and for that (and much more) I will be forever thankful. To me, seeing such great things happen to good people (in terms of thier continued and rising success) is phenomenal!
I will always be grateful for their help, knowledge, time, generosity & inspiration into and dealing with the art world that is now my passion.
MEAR ONE is another artist I owe an immense about of gratitude towards. He's has also shared invaluable knowledge, time, inspiration and new perceptions. With my gallery endeavors, MEAR ONE has helped me more than I can ever properly thank him for and someone I hope to see big things happen for in the future.
The main artists that I admire and collect are Shepard Fairey, MEAR ONE, Banksy, Dondi White, the Street Phantom, JRF, YEM, and the wonderful Ms. Sita Kaylin. I look forward to expanding my collection with artists like Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Alex Grey, and Antony Micallef. I'll always enjoy scoping out emerging artist's with wide range talents as well.
Long story short, my collecting of art will never cease. Also, any artist I sell you will always see proudly hanging on my walls.
2008 was a very great year and I look forward to 2009. I just concluded several successful sales with Christie's Auction House and am eager to deal much with them even more extensively in the future.
My ultimate goal is to eventually display my collection in countless prestigious museums around the world. Living day by day I am truly blessed that I can enjoy what I love to do and am truly grateful for EVERYTHING.
