I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a PhD student and instructor at THE Ohio State University! I've sacrificed my social life for the likes of phonemes, spectrograms and presuppositions. I love traveling and the people I meet through my travels. I love Fortaleza, Brazil and my "familia brasileira". Free time is something I would love more of! And yes, I am an avid preposition strander as exemplified by the phrase preceding this one :)

My Interests

I love linguistics and talk about it to the point where it gets obnoxious. Even my advisor has told me that this is pathetic. And somehow I am proud of this. I love the sun and nice weather and also the beach. Once this quarter slows down I fully intend on getting back into kickboxing. Travel to foreign countries is my second favorite thing in the world (behind talking about cool linguistic phenomena). My most recent travels include Brazil, Mexico and Guatemala. I love ethnic food, and I also love my dog. I also really love going to the movies.

An interesting note about spelling...

...In addition, spelling ability is at best weakly connected to measures of verbal facility, intelligence, and the like.  Being "good at" spelling in English (note: in ENGLISH) is one of those od...
