In Mom's garden, a beautiful garden
Her boys grew day and night
They played in the shade the apple trees made
And thrived upon her light
Hot afternoon, the game will start soon
Baseball on McCartney Road
No matter what I'd say Mom wouldn't let me play
Until the lawn was mowed
Kevin liked Katie, the trampoline tom boy
And I had a crush on her big sister, Erin
Well Mr. Mahoney, he preferred TV,
He didn't know his daughters were committing sins
My Mom knew better, I got good grade letters
She taught at my high school
She blazed a new trail, shopped at garage sales
And built us an above-ground swimming pool
Dee Dee Dee Dee, Da Da Da Da
Excuse me, I beg your pardon
Hee Hee Hee Hee, Ha Ha Ha Ha
I grew up in Mamma's Garden
Mom worked so hard in the house and the yard
I never heard her complain
She made us dinners and pretty good swimmers
Sometimes we went to the bowling lanes
In the winter we'd ski at Big White for free
Mom bought us season's passes
She was no Nancy Green if you know what I mean
But she sure gave us some fun ski classes
Dee Dee Dee Dee, Da Da Da Da
Excuse me, I beg your pardon
Hee Hee Hee Hee, Ha Ha Ha Ha
I grew up in Mamma's Garden
Mom was our doctor, she drove us to soccer
And always went to the games
As well as a mother she's a marathon runner
She puts most men to shame
In spite of his care, he still wasn't there
You did what you had to do
Although its an honour to call you Mother
You were a great Father too
Dee Dee Dee Dee, Da Da Da Da
Excuse me, I beg your pardon
Hee Hee Hee Hee, Ha Ha Ha Ha
I grew up in Mamma's Garden
