Machinecorpse as a band has finally been laid to rest... I am sorry to all the friends and fans for what will never be written or played, for killing what could have lived. Control is something that must happen internally. Forced compliance on an external level is due to a lack of self control; thus a lack of true character. I wanted so badly to take us all to a higher level that I believed it had to happen in a "controlled environment" to succeed; thus the beginning of the end. One cannot carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and not expect to eventually stumble and fall only to be crushed by the reality of his dependence on independence. In the wake of destruction the most important things were laid to waste....Friendships...Relationships. Machinecorpse was born as an escape from a miserable existence in 1997, to be fed through abusive and brainwashing times, as a coping mechanism, then finally put away for awhile only to be reborn and resurrected as a new and living organism. One that for a time brought hope and happiness to some. But to share ones demons with another is a frightful thing; especially when you have birthed, fed, loved, and even at times hated what it had actually cost you in life. It's hard to let go and let something so internal and defining be dismantled and changed by anyone, even people with the best intentions, and the same common goal. Machinecorpse for me has been so much more than the music you hear. It has been my life, my outlet and my safe place. A safe place that I was not ready to give up. The lessons learned have not been easy; but the hardest lessons never are easy to learn. All that can be done is to take lifes hard lessons and apply them into future situations. I am forever indebted to Dennis Reid, Tommy Lee, Alan McCarrol, Adam Hulin, Matt Stanturf, Andy, and Tito for allowing the machine to finally come alive and walk among us for a time. Thank you...I love you guys more than you will ever know. And to everyone else that has listened to, been inspired by, hated, or feared Machinecorpse; the time has come to say farewell...
