Well my name is Erin and I wanted to make a page for one of my favorite poker players Kassam "Freddy" Deeb.
Kassem "Freddy" Deeb was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1955 and now resides in Las Vegas where he is married with four children. Deeb began playing poker in his early 20's when his legal status in the U.S. prevented him from working. Luckily, Deeb did well enough at poker to support himself, because the money from home stopped coming in when the Lebanese Civil War started and he lost contact with his family for three years. Deeb studied mechanical engineering in college but never finished his studies; instead he began playing poker full-time. Deeb prefers playing cash games but is a regular in major tournaments of $10,000 buy-ins or more.Freddy Deeb has one WSOP bracelet from the 1996 Deuce to Seven Draw event and career tournament winnings surpassing $1.5 million. Some of Freddy Deeb's other tournament achievements include: 3rd place in the 2002 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic worth $139,120, 1st place in the 2003 L.A. Poker Classic worth $113,430, and 1st place in the 2004 Festa al Lago II worth $154,204. Recently, Deeb had four money finishes in the 2005 WSOP with two final table finishes in the events of Pot Limit Hold 'em and No Limit Hold 'em taking home over $184,000 for the four events combined. Believe it or not, Deeb claims he still hasn't told his parents he plays poker for a living - maybe he's waiting to make another few million before breaking the news.

At the table, Freddy is considered to be a very tight player. He’s not flashy or a showman like Scotty Nguyen, but he’s not as flat as some players. He rarely makes a big bluff, and is pretty conservative overall. One of his most memorable hands came against Gus Hansen in a WPT showdown; Deeb held big slick (A-K) and pushed all in. Predictably, Hansen called with his Q-T. The flop came good for Freddy, as he hit an Ace, but unfortunately for him, it was accompanied by two ladies, and Hansen knocked him out to win the tournament with a set of Queens.Freddy Deeb has had a long and successful career as a Poker player; he won his first (and only to date) World Series of Poker bracelet in 1996 in Deuce to Seven Draw. In 2002, he placed 2nd at the WPT Five Diamonds event. Riding the strength of steadily improving play, Freddy won the L.A. Poker Classic in 2003, and has since gone on to several more placings, as well as a win at the Festa al Logo in 2004. Freddy has made many final tables, and can usually be seen wearing his trademark “lucky†shirt.
