I am here for Friends

About Me

1. I have ZERO interest in online dating, status-climbing, or exhibitionism. Do NOT message me to flirt if I don't already know you. My ego simply does not require voluminous amounts of cheap sexual attention from strangers to keep it going. And by the way, I have a boyfriend , so I really mean it, see? You're simply not "all that", and he, frankly, is.
2. I have a very difficult time recognizing faces. I don't know how many times or ways I can say it. It's called Prosopagnosia if you care to read up on it. It's nothing personal if I can't remember you after meeting you a few times. Also, I often will get thrown if your hairstyle changes.
3. My life's story over the past few years: I graduated from GMU with a Master's Degree in Statistics, quit DJing, moved to LA, loved it for a while then hated it, and moved back and bought a house. I occasionally contemplate returning to DJing, but it would have to be on entirely different terms again if I did. So far the right opportunity hasn't come along.
4. My ethics are guided by logic, not ill-defined nebulous ideals, or religion, or poorly disguised selfishness masquerading as altruism. Be reassured by this, not threatened by it.
5. In case it isn't blindingly obvious, I'm an atheist, politically liberal, pro-choice, pro-gay/bi/straight/trans/etc, and very anti-gender-roles.
6. I'm mainly on Livejournal , so please talk to me there rather than here.
7. I'm different than I used to be.
8. The "top friends" rotation here changes every few weeks. I'm going to try something new here. Instead of randomly filtering people in/out as before, I will fill out the ranks of the top friend positions by whether we have had a meaningful interaction lately. "Meaningful" being determined solely by me. The topmost person (outside of Chris who is always in the #1 spot, and bands, which are filler) will be the most recent occurence, and down the list. If there are no meaningful interactions, which is entirely possible, then the list will remain at 4 (Chris + 3 bands). 9. A great deal of time can be saved in getting to know me by reading what I put on these profile pages.
10. Please support the Turgwe Hippo Trust . This is a very worthy cause run by two truly devoted hippo-lovers, who provide a haven from poachers in Zimbabwe.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Do NOT message me to flirt if I do not know you.

See the above section (1) on "boyfriend". Also the handy status indicator of "in a relationship".Communication from lecherous strangers will annoy me, and if I'm in a particularly bad mood I will mouth off. If you have a legitimate question, I will probably answer it, but I won't friend you unless I know you in real life (this also goes for anyone who solely uses their myspace for promotion as well). There is a reason I don't have 967,582,024 friends on my list...SPAM.

I will only add bands to my friends list if I am absolutely ape-shit over them. Reference the "Music" section to find out what qualifies making me "ape-shit".

I'm mostly here to keep up with friends who won't use Livejournal.
