About Me

The H bar, Colston hall foyer....... “A dazzling array of Latin & European folk-dance. Blending Flamenco & Salsa rhythms. They are clearly Bristol’s Ojos de Brujos and must be experienced live”..........Passing clouds "Movimientos" London......."One of the most exciting global fusion acts in the Uk.........."Bristol's homegrown answer to Chambao, Ojos de Brujo and other contemporary mestizo bands. Combining Latin & Hispanic tunes with Ska, English folk & dance grooves...add a sprinkling of Flamenco guitar, the haunting sound of the hang and you have the passionate mélange that is Sufira" Formed in the summer of 2006, Sufira set out to celebrate the colourful heritage of it's Bristol based members, who are Spanish English and Irish. Sufira create their own original, soulful tunes which evoke passion and encourage celebration of all that life is. They have also played at prestigious London world music venues, Notting Hill arts club "Movenientos" and Passing Clouds Hackney.
