About Me

Create your own Friend Test here
I've been told I'm sweet, considerate, funny, sarcastic, intelligent, well adjusted, confident, sexy and hot. What more could you really ask for? *wink*

My Interests

Constantly learning about myself and changing for the better; All things lesbian/gay/dyke/queer; reading, writing (I write lesbian erotica, check out my blog); computers, video games, surfing the net; sarcasm, Buddhism, fitness, exercise, playing basketball, tennis and softball (when I get the chance); music, movies, comedy, sarcasm, stimulating conversation over drinks or coffee, sarcasm, people watching, sarcasm... the list goes on and on... I'm always interested in mental, emotional and physical stimulation of just about any kind. ;)

I'd like to meet:

Anyone willing to stroke my...... ego.

Friendship needs no words for it is a beautiful thing...

and beauty often cannot be described.

Music:

Music speaks to me on many levels, even though I'm not musically inclined in any way. I have an eclectic taste in genres, with some of my favorite artists being: Beth Hart, Jennifer Nettles, Imogen Heap, Pink, MeShell Ndegeocello, Tegan & Sara, Morcheeba, Sarah McLachlan, Melissa Etheridge, TLC, Jem, Brandy, Usher, Guano Apes, Gwen Stefani, LL Cool J, Toni Braxton, Meredith Brooks, Blue October, Joss Stone, Antigone Rising, Sia, Outkast, Missy Elliott, Schuyler Fisk, Kelly Clarkson, Janet Jackson, Catie Curtis, Dashboard Confessional, Garbage, K's Choice/Sarah Bettens, Plumb, KT Tunstall, Foo Fighters, Prince, Anastacia, Maxwell, Goapele, Sara Bareilles, Missy Higgins, Snow Patrol, Holly Brook, Jason Mraz, Amos Lee, RuPaul, Alanis Morrisette, Azure Ray, Lauren Christy, Anouk, Jonatha Brooke, Nelly Furtado, Melissa Ferrick, DJ Irene, Jack Johnson, Tara MacLean, 80s & 90s, and my newest discoveries: Saving Jane, Thirteen Senses, and Feist.

Movies:

I love Netflix! Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith were great movies. BBC did a great job adapting from the books. The Pirates of the Caribbean movies were really good, too. I think I'd go straight for Johnny Depp. *grin*
The Color Purple has made it to my list of favorites, too.

Television:

Finally got cable! YAY! I'm a true lover of all things Law & Order: SVU, Bones, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (I think I'd go straight for Vincent D'Onofrio, too *grin*). I'm also a Court TV junkie. I love me some Forensic Files.

Books:

I love to read, I just don't as much as I should or would like. You can usually find me purusing an astrology, psychology or Buddhist book of some sort. Some of my favorites are 1000 Most Important Words, Tipping the Velvet, Fingersmith, Written on the Body, Stone Butch Blues and One Writer's Beginning
June 2007, currently reading: Nightwood by Djuna Barnes

My all time favorite poem
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to
be careful
be realistic
remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.
