Broadcasting Transmitter Through The Forest Door

About Me

The Broadcasting Transmitter side project has been an ongoing outlet for Luke O'Farrell's (The Laurels) acoustic material since early 2007. Original sessions had started at Salisbury Lane Artistic Refuge with Daniel Poulter (The Dolly Rocker Movement) recording them to 4 Track tape and Conor Hannan (The Laurels/Silver Moon) coming in to add sitar with Jules Ferrari (The Black Ryder) also contributing vocals and one of her own compositions. After a vast amount of marijuana consumption during the recording and a variety of personal issues, the sessions were halted, but once again started when the 4 track tape machine was moved to O'Farrell's share house where further tracks were recorded and worked on until, surprise surprise, over consumption of marijuana and personal issues halted the process yet again. Originally conceived as an experiment to record entirely live with only loop pedals to layer the acoustic guitars and harmonies to tape, these results are now stuck in a cupboard somewhere gathering dust and may once again hopefully see the light of day. Since then, O'Farrell has been writing and recording/re-recording various bits of these acid folk pieces at home to the much less exciting format of his home computer (which is what you're hearing on the site), but plans to begin playing the material solo later this year and hopefully with a release to follow at some point when marijuana consumption, personal issues and levelheadedness find some sort of balance in the not too distant future.
