The Level are a 4-piece gem of a band just loving what they are doing at the moment! Based in Brighton, they are constantly honing their sound, always looking for the next great tune to relay to the world. Whether unplugged or with amps turned to 11, The Level are set to impress with their unique style and innovative arrangements.
The members are Matt (guitar/vocals), Reggy (guitar/vocals), Will (drums) and Lisa (bass). Each member has been thankfully drawn together through the 'hub' of music that is Brighton. Matt and Reggy moved down to Brighton from Lincolnshire, leaving their jobs behind them with the sole intention of forming a band down here. Soon after, Will was found. And what a find he was! Making the noble journey to Brighton alone, from the Midlands, he came in search of a life of music. Enter Lisa! Starting off in Ireland then following her musical journey through life, she made it to England where she spent a few years focussing academically in music at the ACM, Guildford. Finally, she too was drawn down to Brighton's shores.
The band are recovering from a successful (hectic!) year of giggin Brighton's alluring circuit in 2007 - playing such venues as The Pressure Point, The Hope, and The Ocean Rooms, and supporting well-known acts such as Rubylux, Kingsomniac, The Lanes and The Ben Poole Band. 2007 saw a victory for The Level at The Providence's renowned "Are You Taking The Mike?" knock-out competition over 8 weeks. The band were also featured in interview on Radio Reverb, promoting a compilation album of songs by top local bands - including their single, "Stand Up".
The Level are currently working on new material for their 2nd EP out in June - so watch this space!!!
