-Oréus SAAH is a Beninese composer.In 1991, then known as Auréus Franck HUNGBO, he discovered he had a real passion for singing. A few years later in Benin, together with some of his friends, he set up a traditionaly inspired a cappella group : the ATHON'X. That is how he acquainted himself with writing lyrics and musical composition. His work is mainly influenced by soul music and jazz, his "master singers" being as well traditional or modern singers.In 1996, his group, the ATHON'X, took part in the first edition of the FESPAM, ie the Panafrican Music Festival in Brazzaville. Among others performances, he appeared in the opening of Mc Solaar's show, as well as Angelique Kidjo's, Meïway's and Les Tambours de Brazza's. He also sang in duet with Papa Wemba and Nayanka Bell.One of his most rewarding achievement was to be invited to perform in the Presidential Palace of Benin during the evening official reception given in honor of the Heads of States gathering in Cotonou for the 6th Meeting of the French-Speaking World.In 1997, he joined the Beninese television as a presenter on LC2, first private channel in the African French-Speaking World. That short break in Oréus' career of singer allowed him, however, to mix with great African and international stars such as Manu Dibango, Positive Black Soul, Bisso na Bisso, Africando, Magic System, Mickael Jackson, Isaac de Bankolé, Youssou N'Dour, to quote only those.In 2000, he decided to settle in the south of France and to go back to his first passion : singing. By the mean of artistic acquaintances and by joining southern groups and bands, Oréus improved his style and his scenic ease.His first album, recorded with the help of Stephane BARDAD for the arrangements, is nothing less than the synthesis of his whole experience and the influences he's been through: a journey across the Africa of sweetnesses and melancholy, joys and danses.----------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------Oréus SAAH est un auteur-compositeur franco-béninois. En 1991, Oréus SAAH alias Auréus Franck HUNGBO se découvre une passion pour la chanson et quelques années plus tard il monte avec des amis le groupe a cappella ATHON’X d’inspiration traditionnelle au Bénin. Il s’initie ainsi à l’écriture de textes et à la composition musicale. Il trouve ses influences dans la soul, le jazz, ses « maîtres chanteurs » sont aussi bien traditionnels que modernes. En 96, Il participe avec ATHON’X à la première édition du Fespam à Brazzaville. Il participe entre autre aux premières parties de MC Solaar, Angélique Kidjo, Meïway, Les Tambours de Brazza. Il chante en duo avec Papa Wemba et Nayanka Bell. Et une de ses plus grandes récompenses fut son invitation à la présidence du Bénin pour chanter lors de la prestigieuse soirée de gala donnée en l’honneur des chefs d’états lors du 6ème sommet de la Francophonie à Cotonou. En juillet 97, il entre à la télévision béninoise LC2, la première chaîne de télé privée d’Afrique francophone comme présentateur. Ce n’est qu’une pause dans sa carrière de chanteur car cette nouvelle activité lui permet ..oyer de grandes stars africaines et internationales telles que Manu Dibango, Positive Black Soul, Bisso Na Bisso, Africando, Magic System, Mickael Jackson, Isaac de Bankolé, Youssou N’Dour etc.… En 2000, il décide de s’installer dans le sud de la France et renoue avec sa passion première : le chant. Au fil des rencontres artistiques et en intégrant des groupes et orchestres du sud, Oréus peaufine son style et son aisance scénique. En 2008 il fini d'enregistrer son premier album "N'doté", dans lequel le guitariste de jazz Lionel LOUEKE est invité ". Réalisé entre Toulouse,Cotonou et Paris son album n’est autre que la synthèse de toutes ses influences : un voyage dans l’Afrique des douceurs et des mélancolies, des joies et des danses.
