About Me

Layout by CoolChaser {}

Hello! I’m Michelle. I am 38 years "young". I have lived in Cedar Rapids my entire life. I recently got engaged to a Wonderful, Sweet & Caring man, Scott. I am the very proud mom of three wonderful kids, Megan is 22, Alex is 15, Makayla is 7, and I love them with all my heart. I also have two awesome (soon to be) step sons who keep me on my toes, Austin is 8 and Jason is 7. Our house is busy, sometimes stressful, but always full of humor & love!
I have worked at a law firm in downtown CR for 6 years now and I truly enjoy my job. There is never a dull moment in an office with 38 attorneys that is for sure.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Summer is my favorite time of the year, The HOTTER the better. Halloween is my favorite holiday followed closely by The 4th of July. I love all types of food but Thai is one of my favorites, seafood runs a close second.I hate spiders, and I love to laugh, Humor is a MUST in this life.
Really I only have two MAJOR pet peeves and those are Smoking (SOOOO NOT GOOD FOR YOU and THOSE AROUND YOU) and LYING! Other than that I am pretty laid back. (Here come the clichés, but it is true) My life has been full of some pretty rough roads but I really wouldn’t go back and change a thing, because everything I have gone through has made me who I am today and if I do say so myself, I rather like who I am! These 38 years have turned me into quite a woman and I am looking forward to another 38 or more (God willing) I can’t wait to see where I go from here.

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms, The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It's the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. I say, It's in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
Now you understand Just why my head's not bowed. I don't shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It's in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, the palm of my hand, The need of my care, 'Cause I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.

BREATH IN FAITH....BREATH OUT FEAR!
Life Message
A group of alumni, all highly established in their respective careers, got together for a visit with their old university professor.
The conversation soon turned to complaints about the endless stress of work and life in general...
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went into the kitchen and soon returned with a large pot of coffee and an eclectic assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal - some plain, some expensive, some quite exquisite.
Quietly he told them to help themselves to some fresh coffee. When each of his former students had a cup of coffee in hand, the old professor quietly cleared his throat and began to patiently address the small gathering.
'You may have noticed that all of the nicer looking cups were taken up first, leaving behind the plainer and cheaper ones. While it is only natural for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is actually the source of much of your stress-related problems.'
He continued.. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. The cup merely disguises or dresses up what we drink. What each of you really wanted was coffee, not a cup, but you instinctively went for the best cups..Then you began eyeing each other's cups....''
''Now consider this: Life is coffee. Jobs, money, and position in society are merely cups. They are just tools to shape and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not truly define nor change the quality of the Life we live. Often, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee. Enjoy your coffee!''
The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have... So please remember: Live simply. Love generously. Care Deeply. Speak Kindly. Leave the Rest to God. And remember - the richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least
I Believe......
I believe- that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.
I believe- that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I believe- that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally. different.
I believe- that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I believe- that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe- that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I believe- that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I believe- that you can keep going long after you think you can't.
I believe- that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you you will find the strength to help.
I believe- that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I believe- that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I believe- that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I believe- that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I believe- that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I believe- that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be, And I am still a work in progress.
THINGS TO REMEMBER......

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I would love to Dress up, grab a limo, eat a good meal and then head out to a Swingin Big Band Night Club and see Harry Conick Jr. in concert. If I could meet him in person that would be a bonus but I would take just being able to hear him live. I would also love to meet Maya Angelou. I think she is an incredible woman who has wonderful insight in regards to our world and the humans that live in it. She is a woman of understanding, peace and grace.
On a stranger note I would also like to meet Tim Burton, I find his movies intriguing, weird and kind of dark. I love em! I would just like to talk and see where all that craziness comes from. I would also like to meet Dane Cook, I think he is not only very attractive but damn FUNNY! I love a good sense of humor.
