About Me

I taught myself how to play the six string guitar by ear when I was 11 or 12. In my mid teens, I began playing around with my friend's Fender Hawiian steel guitar. A few years later, I became curious after assembling my friend, Jeff (skunk) Baxter's pedal steel for one of his gigs. I was about 17 then. Sometime thereafter, I bought my own pedal steel, but didn't take it seriously until a few years later. Eventually, I stopped playing six string guitar altogether, concentrating on my pedal steel playing. After a hiatus, in 2004 I started freelancing as a sideman again. Recording artists, Chris Val and Ann Brown had me accompany them on the "Heartlands Hayride", a live radio show located in Baptistown, NJ, and at Bally's Wild Wild West in Atlantic City, NJ.After that, I began fronting several impromptu trios, playing traditional instrumental music, from 2006 to 2007. I've played clubs,Churchs and Christian coffeehouses with my trio and as a soloist in NY&NJ. In July,07 the trio broke up and I moved to Houston, TX and back to Jersey City in November 07. Since then,I've been sitting in with performers and playing solo at open jams/open mics in NY&NJ. Now, I wish to join or form a band performing traditional and/or original music.
