Band Members: 'One For Hank' players included Marc Retish/drums, Nick Ciola/bass and Dan Neale/guitar from Martin Zellar & the Hardways and Mike 'Raz' Russell on fiddle who has graced the recordings and performances of Trailer Trash, Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers, Joe Henry and The Jayhawks among others. 'One For Hank' was recorded at Flowerpot Studios by Rich Mattson.'Backyard Swingset' a live studio session with my Minneapolis band Jim Gruidl/guitar; Andy Deckard/drums and Michael Derrick/double bass was recorded by Rich too. Influences: I'm pretty much informed by everything, the good, the bad and the Ugly Americans. Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Chrissie Hynde, Blondie, Rickie Lee Jones, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Shawn Colvin, Tina Turner and those Texas boys... Bob Schneider, Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, Billy Joe Shaver, Willie and Waylon and the boys... gotta love 'em. Chris Whitley made me start a loose change jar for a National, may he rest in peace. Listening right now to Daniel Kamas, The Blue Nile, Kings of Leon, Lu in '08...
