About Me

"'ALMS,' YOU SAY" is a 32-minute, 16-millimeter, color featurette. The film is the story of a teenaged vagabond who has an ethereal connection to three unrelated individuals living in a seaside town where he daily wanders. This picture was lensed in Newark, Old New Castle, and Lewes, Delaware and in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. Stills and production photos are available in the photo section of this page. WRITER/DIRECTOR - CHRISTOPHER MALINOWSKI - (1969) - Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Chris is a Pennsylvania-based filmmaker who believes in SHOOTING, EXCLUSIVELY, ON FILM as opposed to using a digital format. He has written/directed several 16-millimeter black and white shorts ("Son of a Fishlicker", "Metz Committed", "Celestial Self") and the 16-millimeter color featurette, "'ALMS,' YOU SAY". The latter film is the impetus for this page, as Chris is interested in sharing/borrowing production information with/from like-minded individuals who are willing to refinance their entire being in order to manifest capital enough to shoot a 15-minute piece on 16mm/35mm film in lieu of making a digital feature for a comparable amount of dollar. HIS INTENT, as a filmmaker, is to construct regionally-based, personal dramas meshed with the intangible elements of a rural/suburban magical realism, and deliver these stories ON FILM, with no digital enhancements. Chris is also the founder of the band THE COLLINGWOOD (myspace.com/thecollingwood) for which he plays guitar and sings lead vocals.
