Starting to play guitar at 31, was frustrating for Carl. He'd been writing poetry since he was a child and always wanted to develop his lyrical talents into something more palatable for the public. His guitar style is simplistic but somehow enhances the lyrics and the emotion in his voice. His work is typified by the emotion that cries from each note. By baring his soul he makes it easier for the listener to bare their own.Filled with metaphor, his lyrics can sometimes be haunting. They are often reminiscent of lost loves, sometimes positive, sometimes melancholy, but always a celebration of the emotional landscapes through which we all have and must travel.Wherever you're heading, enjoy it.
