My Space is a wonderful place for musicians and music lovers,in particular its a showcase for new and unsigned bands, its what attracted me here in the first place, I used myspace to assist me as I managed the band THE GEOFFS. I managed The Geoffs between Feb 07 and to the bands demise in March 08, The Geoffs fast become one of the biggest and most sought after unsigned bands in the country,at its peak my telephone was constantly ringing from record labels, the media, and from venues looking to book the band. I went into band management blind, but I sure am glad I did,I did a lot of studying and research and I dedicated all my spare time to it and if Im honest I was quite surprised at what a success I made of managing a relatively unknown band. During 07 the Geoffs played over 80 venues countrywide,The band also played to just under 2000 people at a rugby league event in the Geoffs home town stadium Hilton Park. The band also featured regularly in the local press and built a good strong loyal following who would often partake in the shows,The Geoffs got rid of 400 tickets to a show at J2 in Bolton and for the first time ever on a Thursday evening J2 had a que waiting for the doors to open. The Geoffs were the first band to play inside Manchester Town Hall and also played to a near full Cavern in Liverpool to the accolade of promoter Ged who said no band play here to such a big crowd let alone get paid,The Geoffs did.The Geoffs also played on the same bill as The Futureheads in Bolton and on the same bill as Northern Uproar in Whitehaven, at that gig the Geoffs (the unsigned band) got rave reviews in cumbrian papers and stole the show from the signed band Northern uproar.Truth be told I did put a lot of work into advertising and promoting the band and it most definately payed off. The Geoffs have been collecting lots of interest from some record labels and 'turntables' one of The Geoffs most known tunes is to be used in the soundtrack to a film about woody allen called 'mancattan' due to be released summer 08. Sadly The Geoffs called it a day in March 08,a lot of the history of The Geoffs is logged for your perusal atwww.thegeoffsshrine.piczo.com
take a look. The Geoffs have moved on,individually, to other musical projects,Personally I think it was a massive mistake on their parts, but hey who was I?... I have had lots of offers from other bands to manage them and sadly have declined them all. I have hung up my boots as they say and am now enjoying music as it should be enjoyed,as a listener'. If you are still awake, yawn yawn, thanks for taking the time to read this and remember everything relates to and involves 'MUSIC'
