Its Dunfermline, its Friday night and its still raining.
Let's face it, your options are pretty limited, particularly if you're into live music (and even more so if you're under 18). Well it doesn't have to be that way folks - you shouldn't have to board a train to get to a decent night out!
So why not forget the carryout, turn your back on the platform and help grab hold of our fledgling music scene... If we all pull hard enough we could even drag it, kicking and screaming, to the ruddy great venue at the top of the hill!!
Dunfermline's very own, shiny new event night, launched at Carnegie Hall on 28th April. We plan to run the event every four months and have three main objectives:
-
Showcase local unsigned talent
Encourage established Scottish acts to come and play in Fife
Provide the good people of Dunfermline with a ruddy great night out!
GMG2 is scheduled for Friday 7th September, this time featuring performances from four bands:
Glasvegas
(Experimental / Surf / Pop)
sixpeopleaway
(Alternative / Acoustic / Electronica)
ninecircles
(Alternative / Rock)
Root System
(Ska)
Plus:
Melvitronica
( Electro / Trip Hop DJ)
Alex Kidd
(On-stage visuals)
People of Dunfermline, lend us your ears and five of your finest Scottish pounds!
