Andy

For years he's been plugged into blenders and songs . . . they call him the 12-volt man!

About Me

Happily married, no kids, one dog (black Lab). Living in Charleston South Carolina and quite happy to leave the north. Life appears to be as good as most Gordon Lightfoot songs!Spent the first 40 years of my life between 1974 and 1998, life caught up quick and by 2003 all was right as I managed to take 8 years away and weigh in at 32.

My Interests

American history, organizational theory, human personalities and how to approach them, my wife and her happiness, our dog, free enterprise. Trips to Walmart and cheese.

I'd like to meet:

Grama Schreck (when I am called), Andy Kauffman (he lives on Grand Turk Island), Oblio, and my old self.

Music:

Jimmy Buffett, Little River Band, Gordon LIghtfoot, America, Paul Simon, Genesis, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylanand finally . . . return of the Mac:

Movies:

Anything Newman/Redford, the Great Escape, most Steve McQueen, old Eastwood, Glengarry/Glenross, Jeremiah Johnson, Mad^4 World, Down & Out in Beverly Hills, the Sand Pebbles, and Blazing Saddles.

Television:

I typically have the TV on for background noise, perhaps CMT, GAC, or an old movie. I do enjoy Family Guy and Looney Tunes and look to the TV as a very mindless numbing experience that takes me away from the day I had.

Books:

Most western biographies, I like to read phone books of zip codes in the bathroom (seriously), In Harm's Way, Just Me and My Dad, Love You Forever, English Fairy Tales, Cryptozoology (e.g. Bigfoot).

Heroes:

Dad, Mom, Dayna, Tanya, Max Karg, Andy Hanzes, Dave Marr, Larry Riner, Hugh Sweeney, and Mongo. Those brave and principled enough to defend others who are then allowed to speak louder.

My Blog

Mongo. My best friend.

I cannot recall if it was second or third grade, whichever one he was held back in. At any rate, I am so glad that he indeed had to repeat a grade, because it gave me the opportunity to become friends...

It's a snow day, not a Lisa Loeb song either

OK, so Ithaca College closed and my wife got a snow day; the city of Ithaca closed, thus halting all public transortation and disabling folks from traversing through. Cornell University? Well, as...

Lake Erie Rolls and Buffalo sings in the realms of an upstate noreaster . . .

So, we are supposed to get a  noreaster today/tonight. For those of you who do not know what a noreaster is, I have defined it simply as reason #703 why we are moving south. In all fairness, thes...
