Insouciant, I am...(Just love that word!) "I'm not just strong! I'm smart and I'm cute, I'm the whole package..." was a given motto...which I embrace! Born in Maine, Raised on a beautiful island in Georgia...St. Simons Island to be exact...The elementary school motto was "Sand in your shoes, sense in your head!" and yes, we played on the beach often. Not a bad way to grow up, but like any small town- there was a plethera of drama...and still is! Hard to grow up in a vacation spot really- gives you a false sense of reality...but for those of us who knew there was way more to the world than our little island...we became the adventure-seeking ones...moving all over the place...never quite settling down. I enjoyed this lifestyle for some time- living in Maine, Key Largo, FL, Martha's Vineyard, Yellowstone National Park- to name a few...until I moved to Atlanta...where I have now been for 7 years...the longest streach of time I have stayed anywhere as an adult. It is a big city with a small town feel...getting bigger by the day(traffic, nuff said!)....the weather is ideal really(it is 68 today and it's January) and the arts are what continues to keep me here (along with Piedmont Park-designed from the likes of Central Park in NYC and the people- southern hospitality at its finest!). Love the music scene and the people in it...and my brother, Joseph, is an artist (see his work at www.faygoldgallery.com) so I enjoy being a part of the ever-evolving art community...I am in Aesthetics classes and graduate in May...looking forward to the much needed change from the Restaurant/Hospitality Management world were I lived and breathed for over 15 years...Have a desire to live in Paris, even for a few months...to immerce myself in the culture and learn the language...it is my family's heritage...Halloween is my favorite holiday and Orange my favorite color (couldn't tell that from my page!)...I enjoy good wine anytime...it is a hobbie for me and one of the last vices I have ;) , Like to travel whenever possible and learn new things- even if it's something that doesn't quite excite me...like to know why it excites others...Want to leave this world knowing that I did my best to understand ME and the world around me...something we all work towards daily, in one way or another...Hope 2006 is a good one -full of adventures, growth and understanding for all of you out there!
