UPC Universal Peace Collective

About Me

One world, one human race...
UPC, Universal Peace Collective (or UP Collective as it is also known), took shape in the French Alps as a side project while JAMES PARKER (of Ragtag Misfits) toured the area in the winter and spring of 2004.
Surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine glaciers, UPC's founding member attempted to create sound scapes reflective of his environment, refining a concept whose objective became to fuse cultural diversity and spiritual influences from around the world. The end result can best be summed up as an experiment involving Five Continents and Two Hemispheres, converging over occasionally chilled-out ambient vibes or more frenetic beats... as melodies dictate.
James has also been working on behalf of Greenpeace, Amnesty International and MSF for the better part of a decade, and is a founding member of James Parker & The Ragtag Misfits (see: myspace.com/jamesparkerandtheragtagmisfits).
A journey through New Zealand as this project neared completion certainly had an influence on the outcome of this disc as "Aroha", title of this album means Love in Te Reo, the rich and indigenous language of the Maori people of Aotearoa...
